The CAMHS Nursing Academy is a training and development program which is based on the four pillars of advanced nursing practice:
- Clinical Practice
- Facilitation of Learning
- Leadership
- Evidence, Research and Development
We have also added a fifth pillar, Wellbeing. This is to recognise the importance of self-care, both for our nurses, and for the provision of outstanding quality care.
Nurses within CAMHS have access to the Nursing Academy intranet site where there is extensive information pertinent to each pillar of advanced nursing practice.
The academy provides a space both online and in person for all CAMHS nurses to explore and maximise their individual developmental pathway, whilst recognising the current skills, practice and the importance of sharing this knowledge across the directorate.
