Southwark CAMHS Liaison Service

How our service can help you

The Southwark CAMHS Liaison Service works with children and young people, up to the age of 18, who present at Kings College Hospital in crisis. We also offer follow up appointments in the communityafter discharge from hospital.

Our team is primarily based within the Accident and Emergency (A&E) department at Kings College Hospital. When children and young people come to see us we will assess them in A&E.

If it is appropriate for the young person to be discharged from the hospital, we will arrange for them to be followed up in the community. We can provide up to four additional appointments. If longer term treatment is needed, we will refer them to another CAMHS team.

Our team also manages duty calls for urgent referrals. We can offer help for someone that is already being seen by a CAMHS service, depending on their needs. In some cases, we can offer an appointment on the same day so that the child or young person does not need to attend A&E.
