Who can attend Estia training?
Staff who support adults with learning (intellectual) disabilities (in residential services, supported living, outreach or as a Personal Assistant) can attend the training. Training is free of charge for not-for-profit and Charity run organisations and personal assistants working within the London Boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham. If you work for a private (profit making) organisation, an organisation outside of Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham or NHS Trust the training cost is £200.00 per person for a 2 day workshop, £100.00 per person for a 1 day workshop or £50.00 per person for a half day workshop.

Who develops and delivers the training?
Training is coordinated by the Senior Training Officer who delivers the programme in collaboration with clinicians, service users and academics from local specialist services;
- Mental Health Learning Disabilities Team, South London & Maudsley NHS Trust (SLaM)
- Community Learning Disability Services, Guy’s & St. Thomas’ NHS Trust
- Service Users
The Estia Centre are also able to develop and deliver bespoke training related to the specialist mental health needs of people with intellectual disabilities to meet your specific organisational requirements. Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
The Estia Centre does not offer full training in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), although some training in specific interventions may be provided by the MHLD clinical teams as part of individual work with service users.
