Dr Colin Campbell is Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist to the Forensic Intensive Psychological Treatment Service (FIPTS) at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the London Pathways Unit (LPU) at HMP Brixton. Both services provide treatment and management for offenders with personality disorder who pose a high risk of harm to others.
Dr Campbell graduated in psychology and medicine from The University of Edinburgh and trained in psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital and Institute of Psychiatry. He completed his PhD on the developmental neurobiology of aggression at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London and continues to undertake research on the molecular and developmental basis of aggression; the use of neuroscience in criminal justice settings; and, the evaluation of services for personality disordered offenders. Dr Campbell provides training on personality disorder to a range of health and criminal justice professionals including, in collaboration with Global Initiative in Psychiatry, to the prison service in Tbilisi, Georgia. Dr Campbell is Secretary of the International Association for Forensic Psychotherapy and is on the Editorial Board of the British Journal of Psychiatry.
