Honorary psychotherapy placements

Placements are currently on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic

As a Trust covering the four boroughs of Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark, we recruit enthusiastic practitioners interested in undertaking honorary psychodynamic psychotherapist posts within our services throughout the Trust.

These posts are offered to:
  • psychotherapists in training
  • counselling psychologists in training
  • qualified psychotherapists

You would need to have experience of psychodynamic psychotherapy, and to have worked one-to-one with adult patients as a therapist/practitioner for between 50-100 hours.

Our patients are offered 12 months of once-a-week psychodynamic psychotherapy. You will be given weekly supervision and you will be able to observe assessments.

If you are interested and would like to gain experience of working in the NHS within a cross-modality team, please forward your CV with a covering letter to the Honorary Co-ordinator for the borough service you wish to apply to. They will also be happy to discuss the placement prior to application. Their contact details are:

Please note there are currently no honorary vacancies in Lewisham or Southwark.

As a trust we are committed to encouraging BME practitioners to apply to these posts as they are currently underrepresented in the psychotherapy workforce.

Please note that this position is not suitable for those pursuing a career in clinical psychology.
