Quality Improvement

Our vision is to improve the lives of the people and communities we serve and to promote mental health and wellbeing for all.

We will achieve this by becoming an organisation where quality improvement is what we are about and at the heart of everything we do.

We will do this in collaboration with staff, patients and carers.

Why we are doing this?

We want to work together with our patients and staff to:

  • improve the care that we provide
  • ensure that people’s experience of our service is the best it can be
  • focus on what matters to patients, carers and our staff
  • develop care based on research and evidence
  • strive to make our organisation a great place to work.

We will do this by:

  • Empowering people – we want to continuously improve and learn. To achieve this we will have to think differently , be innovative and give everyone at every level the skills they need to deliver change
  • Enabling others – our leaders will support staff at all levels to think differently, be innovative and to focus on what matters most
  • Engaging staff – we will celebrate our success, share our learning and build a culture of quality improvement across our organisation

Building this culture will be a journey but by focusing on what matters to our patients, carers and staff, and working together we will continuously improve the care and treatment that we offer.

We are using QI methodology called ‘the model for improvement’ to make changes, spread best practice and measure how we are doing.
