Job title Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist and Non Medical Prescriber
About

Amanda is a Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist and Non Medical Prescriber working within the Adult ADHD Service at the Maudsley Hospital. She joined the team February 2015 to continue pursuing her specialist interests in neurodevelopmental disorders and broaden her experiences by working with adults. Prior to this, she worked in Paediatrics, as a Sister of an acute 40-bedded general unit. She has a BSc Honours in Professional Nursing Practice and through this she developed a special interest in working with adolescents.

Subsequently she obtained dual-qualification as a registered Mental Health Nurse and for the next 11 years worked as an ADHD Nurse Specialist within a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). It was this role led her to achieving a Non-Medical Prescriber qualification in 2009 and running a nurse led ADHD Clinic. Additionally, Amanda has undertaken a foundation course in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and also has a qualification in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and has delivered both these interventions in her past CAMHS role.
