DISCOVER programme wins Guardian Public Service Award

Congratulations to the CAMHS DISCOVER programme for winning the health and wellbeing category at The Guardian Public Service Awards. The programme runs workshops in sixth forms and schools to support 16-18 year olds who are experiencing anxiety, low mood and stress.

Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Project Lead for DISCOVER, Irene Sclare said: "We're thrilled to receive the Health and Wellbeing Public Services Award from The Guardian. It's an honour to be recognised for the DISCOVER team’s work in schools. We work hard to creatively engage and support young people from a variety of backgrounds to make changes in their lives, and we are very proud that the DISCOVER programme makes a positive impact on their mental health and wellbeing".

Maudsley Charity contributes funding towards the DISCOVER programme and Chief Executive Rebecca Gray said: "We’re absolutely delighted for Irene and her team. Winning this award shines a spotlight on the project, and gives it the recognition it deserves at a national level. The Maudsley Charity has been proud to fund DISCOVER, the project makes an extremely valuable and positive impact on the lives of people in our local community and demonstrates real innovation in clinical service delivery.”
