Trust to provide substance use disorder services in Richmond and Wandsworth

Wednesday, November 27, 2019

South London and Maudsley has agreed a new contract to deliver substance use disorder services across the boroughs of Richmond and Wandsworth from April 2020. We will provide this service as part of a new consortium with Addaction, St Mungo’s and CDARS (Community Drug and Alcohol Recovery Services).

The clinically-led service will have dedicated consultant psychiatrist and consultant psychologist provision. There will be a focus on making ‘every door the right door’ for individuals and communities to access the treatment they need, including provision across primary care. An increased range of treatments and resources, with online support, will be provided to help people manage and recover from substance use disorders.

Dr Emily Finch, Clinical Director, Southwark and Addictions, said: “We are very pleased to have been successful in winning the tender to provide addictions services for Wandsworth and Richmond. The trust and its partners have worked hard to provide excellent services for the residents of Wandsworth over the last five years and are now very proud to have the opportunity to extend this to Richmond. Can I take the opportunity to congratulate all the staff who worked so hard to win the tender.”
