Our Perinatal Outpatient Service (Maudsley Hospital) is a national, specialist antenatal and postnatal assessment and treatment service. We provide care for women who are experiencing mental health problems during pregnancy, who have post-natal depression, or who have had a relapse of a serious mental health problem following the birth of their baby.

National services are for people who live throughout the United Kingdom.
Our community outpatient services are based at the Maudsley Hospital, King’s College Hospital, and University Hospital Lewisham.
Our team includes specialist perinatal staff and a consultant psychiatrist.
Our aim is to provide early identification and treatment of antenatal and postnatal mental health problems. Our service helps to maintain the mother’s mental health, develop a relationship between the mother and her baby, reduce the impact of the mother’s mental illness on the child, and provide support for the mother in her community.
