The Lewisham Talking Therapies Service is provided by the Lewisham Primary Care Psychological Therapy Service. We provide brief treatment, including self-help therapy for people, aged over 18, with depression or anxiety. Currently all treatments are offered remotely either video, digital or telephone consultations.

We also offer Employment Advice for people who are unemployed, or who are at risk of losing their job.

We provide care for people who are registered with a Lewisham GP or live in the London borough of Lewisham.

At the Southwark Talking Therapies Service we help people, aged 18 and over, cope with depression and/or anxiety. We are based at the Maudsley Hospital. Our service is for people who live in the London Borough of Southwark and/or people registered with a Southwark GP.

We provide a range of therapies including one to one, group, and home-based online support programmes.

SPTS also provide advice on employment related issues for people coping with depression and/or anxiety.

We can be contacted directly, or your GP can contact us for you. Our service is provided in different locations, including GP surgeries, hospitals and local community centres.

Thames Ward is a medium secure, forensic acute admission ward in River House, at Bethlem Royal Hospital. Thames ward is where everyone is first admitted to at River House to determine what treatment and care they need within the unit.

As well as providing an in-house assessment and referral service, we provide inpatient care and treatment for men, aged 18-65, who have mental health problems and a history of offending behaviour, and who are acutely unwell or have challenging behaviour. Acute illnesses start quickly and have distressing symptoms.

We provide nurse-led group therapies and a designated, named worker, who co-ordinates the care of each person. Our health and social care professionals work with people, their families and carers, to develop care plans to help prevent relapses, and to help identify early warning signs, so that they know how to get help in a crisis.

Our unit is in Lambeth Hospital. We offer services for men, aged 18-65, who have been detained on Sections 3 or 37 under the Mental Health Act 1983. We care for people with treatment resistant psychosis, with or without mild personality disorders; drug and alcohol misuse; and challenging behaviour. Psychosis involves distorted perceptions of reality, thinking, feeling, hearing and seeing often with symptoms of hallucinations and delusions.

We provide care for people in our local community and from all over the UK

We provide assessment and rehabilitation in hospital. Our service brings together different health and social care professionals, including nurses, occupational therapists and psychiatrists.

We help people to maintain their health and move on to live more independently in their community.
 

The Trauma and Dissociation Service (TDS) is a national specialist, outpatient assessment, consultation and treatment service for adults who are suffering psychological difficulties following trauma and/or dissociative disorders. We assess and treat survivors of a range of traumatic events (both adult and childhood) including domestic violence, childhood abuse, assault, torture, war, rape, major disasters and accidents.

We are the only NHS specialist service offering treatment for people presenting with complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and severe dissociative disorders.

The TREAT service is an outpatient service open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. We work alongside clinical teams, offering additional support with physical and mental health. We provide evidence based specialist treatments for patients with ongoing or difficult to treat symptoms, as well as clozapine titration.

We offer:

• Specialist assessment including detailed investigations
• Initiation and management of specialist and third-line treatments
• Physical assessment including blood tests and ECGs
• Investigation into other causes of non-response, such as comorbid substance misuse (including alcohol), the concurrent use of other prescribed medication or physical illness.
• Clozapine initiation to people with schizophrenia whose illness has not responded adequately to treatment despite the sequential use of adequate doses of at least 2 different antipsychotic drugs.
• Support to manage side-effects of medication

The treatment service is a multi-professional community team that offers psychological and pharmacological therapy interventions, along side key working and dual diagnosis working, to people with complex non-psychotic presentations, primarily but not exclusively: recurrent affective disorders, anxiety, trauma, PTSD and OCD, and personality disorders.

The treatment service offers all of elements of the Assessment & Liaison service combined with targeted therapeutic interventions either provided within the team or by co-working with IPTT.

The service retains the ability to carry out Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act assessments, carers assessment and fulfill the safeguarding responsibilities as well as liaising with local authority personalisation services.

The service has clinical specialists providing therapy and key working and clinical supervision and training to case managers in the community. The service is able to key-work approximately 300 people.

Croydon Treatment Teams East & West provided care and support for people, aged 18-65, who have a range of mood and affective disorders and Personality Disorders. We care for and support people who live in the London Borough of Croydon.

People eligible for our service must be on the Care Programme Approach (CPA). The CPA is a way of describing what you need in order to get the best care. It is for patients who need to see several people or organisations for their mental health care and treatment.

We can provide people with a care co-ordinator to plan their care and support them to access the best available help. They are usually a community psychiatric nurse, social worker or occupational therapist. This will be time bounded.

Our service provides access to a range of talking therapies. We work closely alongside Touchstone, Croydon's Personality Disorder Service.

Our service brings together teams of health and social care professionals, including nurses, social workers and psychiatrists.

The Triage Ward (Ladywell Unit, Lewisham Hospital) is an assessment ward based at the Ladywell Unit in University Hospital Lewisham.

We provide assessment and care for people, aged 18-65, who have an acute psychiatric illness requiring 24 hour hospital care. Acute illnesses start quickly and have distressing symptoms. We assess people and either transfer them to adult inpatient acute wards or refer them to their community services. We provide care for people who live in the London Borough of Lewisham.

We support people, aged 18-65, who are in contact with mental health services, to become more included in their community. We provide paid and voluntary work for people who live in the London Borough of Lambeth.

Waddon Ward is a Forensic Intensive Psychological Treatment Service (FIPTS). We are a medium secure forensic service.

We provide assessment, treatment and care for male offenders, aged 18-65, who have personality disorders and who may be a risk to themselves and others.

This is a national pilot programme and is available for people from Prison, high secure or medium secure services whose original borough of residence is within the M25.

Our treatment programme includes group-work and one to one therapy sessions. We help people to reduce their aggressive and anti-social behaviour and to improve their relationships. We support people in their development at work, and in education, and help them to live more independently in their communities. We admit people for three to four month assessments before treatment, which typically lasts between one and two years.

This is a specialist service, available to people from across the UK. GPs, consultants, health professionals, referrers, commissioners and members of the public can learn more about our forensic services on our National Forensic Services page.

We are a community drug and alcohol service for anyone over the age of 18 living in the London Borough of Wandsworth. The team comprises six pathways across three main sites plus various GP surgeries within the borough. The two core pathways in Battersea and Tooting, Primary Care team at various GP surgeries, and Criminal Justice team offer addictions related prescribing alongside psycho-social interventions and access to a range of groups. Psychology and counselling services are available to those accessing all pathways. Recovery and peer mentoring services are also available to all service users. The service is a Consortium with the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust being the clinical lead in partnership with Addaction and Mungo's. Staff are therefore employed from medical, psychology, nursing, recovery worker, outreach and ETE backgrounds. The service works closely with local hospitals and GPs, Wandsworth Council services, other local partner agencies and the Service User Network. The over-arching aim of the service is to support service users in reducing or stopping their substance use and associated harm, and working towards sustainable and meaningful recovery in the community.

Core sites at WCDAS Tooting and St John's also offer needle exchange, blood testing, hep B vaccinations, medical and nurse assessments, smoking cessation, legal advice, Hep C treatment plus access to detox, day programme and residential rehab options. Specialist professionals run sessions at the sites - eg. legal advice (Release), domestic violence (Refuge), Carer's support (Wandsworth Carer's). Satellite services include a Chems clinic at the sexual health service. The Criminal Justice team works closely with local probation and IOM services and can offer follow up and support for substance users recently arrested, those with court orders or being released from prison. Our Recovery Hub offers employability programmes, access to courses, skills training, social events, activities such as yoga, music and art- available at any point in a person's treatment journey.

Our Residential Unit (Lambeth Hospital) is a low secure, residential forensic rehabilitation unit in Landor Road. It has four flats. We provide assessment, treatment and care for men and women, aged, 18-65, who have mental health problems and who require intensive rehabilitation into the community.

We care for people who live in the London Borough of Lambeth.

A Low Secure Service provides inpatient care and treatment for people with offending behaviour who pose a low level of risk to the public.

We help people to develop living skills, including looking after their rooms and cooking. We also provide support with work-related and education opportunities. Our aim is to move people on towards greater independence in their communities.

We work together with our team of health and social care professionals, residents and their carers.

The treatments we provide include substance misuse groups, anger management groups and one to one therapy sessions.
