The Lewisham Child and Adolescent Crisis Serviceis part of Lewisham Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We work with children and young people, up to the age of 18, who present at Lewisham University Hospital in crisis. We also offer follow up appointments in the communityafter discharge from hospital.

Our team is primarily based within the Accident and Emergency (A&E) department at Lewisham University Hospital. When children and young people come to see us we will assess them in A&E.

If it is appropriate for the young person to be discharged from the hospital, we will arrange for them to be followed up in the community. We can provide up to four additional appointments. If longer term treatment is needed, we will refer them to another CAMHS team.

Our team also manages duty calls for urgent referrals. We can offer help for someone that is already being seen by a CAMHS service, depending on their needs. In some cases we can offer an appointment on the same day so that the child or young person does not need to attend A&E.

The Lewisham Child and Adolescent Generic Team (Horizon) is part of Lewisham Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We offer a service to children, young people and families who live in the London Borough of Lewisham and who have a Lewisham GP.

We provide assessment, treatment and care for children and young people, up to the age of 18, who have significant emotional or mental health difficulties.

Once a young person is referred and accepted to our team, they will get an assessment of their mental health needs and a plan of the care and support they will receive. They will also have one named person who co-ordinates their care and support. This person will be their care co-ordinator. They will be the main point of contact and can be communicated with about how the treatment and support are going.

We also provide guidance and consultation to professionals to discuss prospective referrals and other mental health matters.

This is likely to include child and adolescent psychiatrists, social workers, clinical psychologists, nurses, child psychotherapists, occupational therapists, as well as art, music and drama therapists.

The Lewisham Child and Adolescent Neuro-developmental Service is a tier 3 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) for children and young people who live in the London Borough of Lewisham. This service is for children and young people who have had severe and complex problems for some time.

We provide assessment, treatment and care co-ordination for children and young people, up to the age of 18, with a significant learning disability and/or complex neurodevelopmental disorders.

We support children, young people, and their families, who may be experiencing anxieties around their health. We can provide advice on treatment options and help them to maintain their health.

The NDT provide care for children and young people whose mental health problems may include

• Extreme and challenging behaviour
• Self-harm
• Anxiety problems
• Low mood
• Low self-esteem
• Hyperactivity and poor concentration,
• Anger and significant difficulties with developmental tasks, such as soiling, bedwetting, sleep and eating problems.

Our team is made up of people from different backgrounds, that work together to provide multi-disciplinary care. This is likely to include child and adolescent psychiatrists, social workers, clinical psychologists, community psychiatric nurses, child psychotherapists, occupational therapists, as well as art, music and drama therapists.

The Paediatric Hospital Liaison Team is part of Lewisham Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). Our team is for children and young people, up to the age of 18, who live in the London Borough of Lewisham.

We co-ordinate psychological assessments for children and young people being cared for at University Hospital Lewisham. Our team is here to help manage the emotional impact of physical illness on children, young people and families, and improve their ability to manage the illness and its effects.

Weprovide mental health input for children and young people children with acute illnesses, and those with chronic and life-limiting conditions. This includes conditions such as cystic fibrosis, asthma, and diabetes. This service is for children and young people who have had severe and complex problems for some time.

We have close links with paediatric staff in the hospital, child development teams, and other CAMHS teams.

The Lewisham Child and Adolescent Schools Serviceis part of Lewisham Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We are a tier 2 CAMHS team that provides assessment, treatment and care for children and young people, from 5 to 18 years old, who have mental health problems.

Our team works mainly in Lewisham schools alongside education professionals; however, if necessary, we can offer home visits.

This service is for children who do not need to receive treatment from a full team of health and social care professionals, and who can be treated by a single practitioner.

This service is available to children who have a Lewisham GP. Referrals are accepted from the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) panel, New Woodlands School, the Outreach and Inclusion Service, and a small number of targeted schools.

Lewisham Community Forensic Team based at Kirkdale Resource Centre, who care for people who have a permanent address in the London Borough of Lewisham and provide community-based assessment, treatment and care for people, aged 18-65.

A Forensic community team provide care for people with offending histories who, with appropriate care and treatment, pose a low risk to the public. They may also be subject to Home Office restrictions, Probation Orders or have judicial proceedings outstanding.

The team is made up of psychiatrists, community psychiatric nurses, social workers Psychologists and occupational therapists.

Who work closely with the police, the public protection unit and the local Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangement (MAPPA) team to support people in the community

Lewisham Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Service is part of the wider SLaM DBT Service and is attached to Lewisham CMHTs. DBT is an evidence-based therapy for people whose difficulties with regulating emotions creates significant problems in their lives, and who have a suspected or confirmed diagnosis of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD)/Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).

In DBT, clients are taught skilful ways of managing emotional distress, solving problematic situations and improving their relationships. The DBT programme is delivered in a validating therapeutic environment which focuses on clients' strengths and sensitivities and enables them to develop effective strategies to build a 'life worth living'.

Clients have a DBT assessment and, if suitable, they are offered DBT Ôpre-treatment'. This prepares clients for the full DBT programme, which includes weekly individual and group DBT sessions and DBT phone coaching, and all DBT therapists attend DBT Consult. Clients work towards reducing and stopping all life-threatening behaviours, reducing therapy-interfering and quality of life-interfering behaviours, reducing trauma symptoms, increasing behavioural skills and achieving Ôlife worth living' goals.

Mental health professionals can make referrals by contacting a member of the Lewisham DBT Service to discuss cases in the first instance for screening, and then emailing the therapist they contacted with a completed Lewisham DBT Service referral form attached. NB: Currently, clients need to be under the care of a mental health team in Lewisham to access the Lewisham DBT Service.

The Early Intervention Service provides care for people 18-65 who live in the London Borough of Lewisham.

We provide support to individuals who first present with symptoms of Psychosis, and help prevent them reaching a crisis point.

We provide a National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE)-concordant package of care to clients under the service. This includes prompt assessment, treatment and advice to improve long-term recovery.

We support individuals for up to 3 years.

The Lewisham MHLD service provides community-based psychiatric and psychological assessment, advice and treatment for people, aged over 18, who live in the London Borough of Lewisham. We care for adults with mental health problems and learning disabilities who may have emotional, behavioural, and social, communication or physical difficulties.

We provide care for people with mental health problems and complex needs including behaviours that challenge.

We are a multi professional team including psychologists, behavioural support specialists, nurses and psychiatrists. We work with other health and social care teams as part of the Mental Health Learning Disability Service (MHLD) Neurodevelopment Division.

We provide mental health assessments, therapy and advice on services and treatment options to help people with learning disabilities maintain their health and independence.

An integral part of the Mental Health-Learning Disabilities services provided by the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is the Estia Centre. The Estia Centre is a training, research and development resource that specialises in the mental health needs of adults with learning disabilities. The Estia Centre aims to support the development of a competent workforce, from support staff to experienced managers and from a variety of services. We hope to achieve this by offering a high quality portfolio of training opportunities, including workshops, conferences, training publications, journals and good practice guidance. The Centre is also part of the Institute of Psychiatry, where we aim to improve the care of adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs through our research initiatives that develop evidence-based practice

We provide psychiatric assessment and review for patients aged 65 and over (not active to working age mental health care services) who have been admitted to Lewisham Hospital. We work jointly with our general liaison psychiatry colleagues providing mental health input to older patients presenting to Emergency Department.

The Lewisham Primary Care Mental Health Team is a service providing care and treatment for service users with severe or complex mental health difficulties. This includes, but is not limited to psychotic illnesses, mood and personality disorders, and other co-morbid disorders.

We provide a broad range of medical, psychological, and social treatments and intervention and work closely with acute and crisis services and mental health services in primary care to ensure that service users receive the right care at the right time. Our service is provided in alliance with Bromley Lewisham and Greenwich MIND, Lewisham Adult Social Care, One Health Lewisham, and Lewisham Clinical Commissioning Group.

We are a multidisciplinary service with a range of professionals, including social workers, nurses, doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, and specialist workers, providing employment support, benefits advice, and social inclusion.

Our service is an integrated provision provided in partnership with Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich MIND. Our joined up approach enables seamless support and interventions for Lewisham service users. Our Mental Health Advisors and Peer Support Workers possess expertise and experience in social prescribing and care navigation.

Primary Care Mental Health Teams (PCMHT) support service users who are referred in conjunction with their GP. We use the same electronic note system to improve information sharing and communication.

PCMHTs are the 'front door' service, and you may be 'stepped up' into secondary care following assessment if there is no need for further assessment. PCMHTs also provide care to those who are in transition from secondary care mental health services ensuring people receive the right care at the right time.

The Lewisham Psychiatric Liaison team is for people aged 18-65. The service provides a comprehensive assessment and liaison service to people who are experiencing mental health difficulties who attend Lewisham University Hospital's (UHL) emergency department and who are admitted to the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU).

It provide assessment and advice on treatment of people who have been admitted to the medical, surgical and obstetric wards at UHL who are experiencing mental health difficulties.

The liaison team also provide assessments to people who present with co-morbid presentations of either substance misuse or physical issues, and mental health difficulties in the emergency department and wards with severe mental illness.
