  1. Lambeth CAMHS Rapids Team

    The Lambeth Rapids Team is part of Lambeth Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We provide support for children and young people who are experiencing a mental health crisis, or those with severe and complex mental health needs who may require more intensive support.

    Our aim is to try to keep young people out of hospital and ensure that their care and treatment is delivered within the community.

    Most appointments with us will take place in our clinic at 35 Black Prince Road in Kennington. We can also carry our home visits, school visits, and also attend hospital discharge meetings if appropriate.

  2. Lambeth CAMHS River Team

    The River Team is part of Lambeth Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We provide assessment, treatment and care for young people, aged 0-18, who have moderate to severe mental health difficulties which impact on their daily lives.

    Our team also provide specialist support for children and young people who have moderate to severe learning difficulties. This includes autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and Tourette Syndrome (TS).

    We are an Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service. We offer individual and family interventions, psychological therapies including talking therapies, creative therapies and medication management in line with NICE guidelines.

    We are based at two main sites in the community; 35 Black Prince Road, the Mary Sheridan Centre.

    Our team members come from a variety of clinical backgrounds that can include child and adolescent psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, community psychiatric nurses, child psychotherapists, occupational therapists, as well as creative therapists.

  3. Lambeth CAMHS Spring Team

    The Spring Team is part of Lambeth Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We provide assessment, treatment and care for young people, aged 0-18, who have mild to moderate mental health difficulties, behavioural difficulties, or those experiencing issues for the first time.

    We are an Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service. We offer individual and family interventions, psychological therapies including talking therapies, creative therapies and medication management in line with NICE guidelines.

    We offer time limited interventions that includes, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Personalised Individual Parent Training (PIPT), consultation work with families and the social care network, and identification of more serious mental health difficulties that might require more intensive intervention.

    From Monday 4 December 2023 we will be based at St. John's Angell Town Primary School and is part of the Early Help CAMHS offer which also includes the DISCOVER and CUES teams.

  4. Lambeth CAMHS Youth Justice Service

    The Lambeth CAMHS Youth Justice Service is part of Lambeth Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We work with young people known to the Lambeth Council Youth Justice Service (YJS) who have mental health difficulties.

    Our team is embedded within Lambeth Council’s Youth Justice Service. We offer tier 2 and tier 3 assessment and intervention. We offer a range of therapeutic interventions to young people; this includes one to one sessions, family therapy, and group therapy.

    Our team includes a dedicated a clinical specialist who works with professionals, young people and families where there are concerns of sexually harmful behaviour.

    We also have a dedicated liaison and diversion mental health professional who offers early assessment and intervention to young people coming into contact with the criminal justice system.

    We aim to work flexibly and creatively with our young people in order to help meet their needs. The young people that we work with are often vulnerable with complex and diverse needs, and so we work closely with other services involved in the young person’s care including children’s services, police and schools.

    Our team members come from varied backgrounds that include child and adolescent psychiatry, clinical and counselling psychology, community psychiatric nursing and mental health social work.

  5. Lambeth Children Looked After Mental Health Service (CLAMHS)

    The Children Looked After Mental Health Service (CLAMHS) is part of Lambeth Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We are a team that provides assessment, care and intervention for children and young people, up to the age of 18, who have mental health difficulties. We care for children and young people who are looked after by the London Borough of Lambeth.

    We work with a very diverse population that are often the most vulnerable children and young people, who have experienced trauma including sexual, emotional and physical abuse as well as complex mental health needs.

    Our aim is to provide stability for the children, and young people that see us, and to support their mental health and wellbeing. We also provide regular consultation and support to foster carers, social workers and other professionals involved when there is a concern, and we also run regular training courses for foster carers.

    Our team members come from varied backgrounds that can include child and adolescent psychiatrists, mental health social workers, clinical psychologists, community psychiatric nurses, child psychotherapists, occupational therapists, as well as art, music and drama therapists.

    From Monday 4 December 2023 we will be based at St. John's Angell Town Primary School. We can also see children and young people at one of the other community Lambeth CAMHS mental health centres.

  6. Lambeth Community Forensic Mental Health Team

    Lambeth Community Forensic Team based at Landor House, Lambeth Hopsital, who care for people who have a permanent address in the London Borough of Lambeth and provide community-based assessment, treatment and care for people, aged 18-65.

    A forensic community team provide care for people with offending histories who, with appropriate care and treatment, pose a low risk to the public. They may also be subject to Home Office restrictions, Probation Orders or have judicial proceedings outstanding.

    The team is made up of psychiatrists, community psychiatric nurses, social workers psychologists and occupational therapists.

    Who work closely with the police, the public protection unit and the local Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangement (MAPPA) team to support people in the community

  7. Lambeth Crisis Outreach Service

    Lambeth Crisis Outreach Service supports people in a mental health crisis aged 18 to 65 who are not already in contact with a mental health team. We are a team of mental health professionals, including a psychiatrist, mental health nurses and social workers.

    We offer mental health support at home during your crisis and expert help so you can identify the most suitable short-term support. We also offer access to diagnosis, support from local NHS and voluntary sector services as well as treatment planning and medication.

    We can help you liaise with your GP so you can get the support you need.

  8. Lambeth Outpatient Department

    The Outpatients Department at Lambeth Hospital, provides assessment, treatment and care for people, aged 18-65, who have mental health problems. We also provide a specialist clinic for people with learning disabilities.

    We care for people who live in the London Borough of Lambeth (North and South West).

    Our team of health and social care professionals provide a range of clinics and therapies to support people's mental health and physical needs.

  9. Lambeth Perinatal Mental Health Team

    The Maternity and Perinatal Mental Health Service (St Thomas' Hospital) is a service we run in partnership with Guy's and St Thomas' Foundation NHS Trust.

    Our team provides pre-conception advice, as well as specialist assessment, care and treatment for pregnant and postnatal women, who have current or previous severe mental health problems.

    We work with and advise a range of services and agencies, including general adult mental health services, child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS), social services for children and families, maternity services, health visitors and GPs.

  10. Lambeth Secondary Care Psychological Therapies (SCPT)

    Lambeth Secondary Care Psychological Therapies (SCPT) provides stepped care psychological interventions in secondary care for people aged 18-65 who live in the borough of Lambeth and who have complex needs, including emotional regulation difficulties, complex PTSD, interpersonal difficulties and high levels of need from services.

    Our first step options focus on day to day difficulties and how to manage these. Our follow up therapies include Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Mentalisation Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Analytical therapy, group and individual psychodynamic therapy, as well as Family Therapy. Referrals are accepted by mental health professionals from IAPT and CMHTs, as well as GP referrals and self-referrals for people who are not with another mental health service. The latter can access SCPT via Lambeth's Single Point of Access.

    Waiting times for the service will vary with access to some higher intensity therapies being 12+months.

  11. LEO Unit

    We offer services for men, with acute mental health problems. Acute illnesses start quickly and have distressing symptoms. We provide inpatient psychiatric assessment, treatment and care to help reduce the risk of harm to self and others. We bring together different professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses and social carers who work with the patient and their carers. We help people to maintain their health and move on to live more independently in their communities

  12. Lewisham Adolescent Resources and Therapy Service (ARTS)

    The Lewisham Adolescent Resources and Therapy Service (ARTS)is part of Lewisham Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We provide assessment, treatment and care for young people, up to the age of 18, who are already in the criminal justice system. The service is available to children and young people who have a Lewisham GP.

    Forensic community teams provide mental health treatment and care for people who have a history of offending and who may pose a risk to the public.

    We care for young people who live in the London Borough of Lewisham and are known to a Youth Offending Service (YOS). We also work with children and young people who exhibit sexually inappropriate behaviour.

    We provide one to one and group treatment and care, and work with the police, the public protection unit, social services and our local Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangement (MAPPA) team to support people in the community.

  13. Lewisham CAMHS Child Wellbeing Practitioner Team

    The Lewisham CAMHS Child Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) Team is part of Lewisham Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We provide a low-intensity mental health service to young people who may not meet the threshold for mainstream CAMHS teams.

    We provides short-term, low intensity, evidence-based, guided self-help interventions for children, young people and their parents. We offer treatment for mild to moderate anxiety, low mood, or mild behavioural difficulties.

    Children, young people and their parents or carers will be offered up to eight sessions of guided self-help which will involve of a mixture of face to face and phone, or online video appointments. Sometimes we may ask parents or carers to attend on their own depending on the age of the young person.

    Our team also run workshops to promote the emotional wellbeing of children and young people, for example, ÔExam Stress' or ÔSleep'.

  14. Lewisham CAMHS Mental Health Support Team

    The Lewisham CAMHS Mental Health Support Team(MHST) offers early intervention support to children and young people who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues.

    We can help with issues such as exam stress, behavioural difficulties, low mood, anxiety, and friendship problems. We can also help those with more severe needs to access the right support.

    Our team of Education Wellbeing Practitioners offer guided self-help over several sessions for anxiety, low-mood, or challenging behaviour. This can be face to face, telephone or online.

  15. Lewisham Child and Adolescent ADHD team

    The Lewisham Child and Adolescent ADHD team is a part of Lewisham Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).We provide treatment and care for children and young people with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), up to the age of 18, who live in the London Borough of Lewisham, and who have a Lewisham GP.

    We also provide guidance and consultation to professionals to discuss potential referrals and consultation to professionals who work with the young people in other settings such as Schools.

    Our service is made up of a number of professionals from different backgrounds who work together to provide multi-disciplinary care. The ADHD Team includes child and adolescent psychiatrists, a nurse and a pharmacist.
