About

Ranjeet is Director of Communications, Stakeholder Engagement and Public Affairs. He has 20 years of communication experience working in some of the country's most dynamic public sector arenas.

Before joining the Trust, Ranjeet held several senior communication roles, including as special adviser for the Department of Health working on the provider communications strategy for implementing the 2012 'Liberating the NHS' reforms. At Lambeth Council, Ranjeet was the Head of Communications and led the Council's successful lobbying campaign for a £220m investment in the Building Schools for the Future programme. He has also spent time working with MPs at the Houses of Parliament and supporting local councillors with community programmes. From 2008-2013 Ranjeet worked for Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, the largest mental health trust in the south of England, where he transformed how the organisation communicated with staff, patients, carers and communities.

From 2013-2021, Ranjeet built an award-winning service at South West London and St. George's Mental Health NHS Trust leading a number of innovations that have directly benefitted patient care. He led one of England's most extensive mental health reconfiguration consultations as part of a £180m Estate Modernisation Programme. Ranjeet led the trust's culture change programme Making Life Better Together, which saw over 1,500 staff, patients, and carers come together in 2019 to co-produce the organisation's new values and behaviours framework. He also led the Trust's transformation programme for a single point of access, helping to reduce an average patient call wait time of nine minutes down to 27 seconds.

Ranjeet was the lead for the successful 2019-2021 BBC documentary series 'Stacey Dooley on the Psych Ward', which shone a light on mental health services. He has also pioneered the NHS Communications Trainee programme that supports young people from diverse backgrounds into a career within the NHS.
