Cathy is a qualified social worker, registered with Social Work England. She initially worked in a community team, covering both child protection and adult mental health, including as an Approved Social Worker under the Mental Health Act.
Cathy moved into working in CAMHS in the early 1990s, with an interest in Children in Care and the interface between health and social care. Cathy then worked for the Department of Health and Department for Education as a professional advisor from 1999-2006, working on the Children’s National Service Framework and the Reform of the Mental Health Act.
She then led the development of Multisystemic Therapy (MST) in England, from the Department of Health and NHS England. Cathy moved to SLaM in 2016 to lead the MST-UK service, which is licensed to provide training and consultation for MST and MST Child Abuse and Neglect Teams across the UK and Ireland.
