We want you to feel like you are part of a close knit team at South London and Maudsley. It’s important to us that you valued and appreciated and that’s why there is a range of benefits for you and your family when you join us.
We are committed to making sure you get the most out of the benefits on offer to help you feel like our Trust is a great place to work.
If you're relocating to London and interested in finding out more about the city, King's College London provide some useful information in the London Advantage section of their website.
Our benefits package
Annual leave and career breaks
When you start working at the trust, you get 27 days (plus bank holidays) annual leave as standard. This goes up to 29 days after five years service and 33 days after 10 years.
Special leave can be requested, whether paid or unpaid, for domestic and personal reasons such as compassionate grounds or adoption.
We also offer a career break scheme.
Training and development
Learning and development
There are so many opportunities to train and specialise at South London and Maudsley – we provide world class mental health training.
We recognise staff that go the extra mile. Any member of staff can be nominated for a 'SLaM Star award'.
Each year we recognise and reward the contribution our staff and teams make at a staff awards ceremony.
Develop your career and learn new skills with our job share scheme.
We run a pre-retirement course and our human resources department can assist you with information on our flexible retirement options.
Family and home life
If you are paying for childcare you might find it cheaper to use childcare vouchers purchased through Fideliti.
Maternity and paternity leave
We offer generous maternity and paternity leave and pay. Your entitlement depends on the amount of NHS continuous service.
Trust staff are eligible to apply to rent accommodation on site at Bethlem Royal Hospital or across south London through our partner housing provider. A range of residential accommodation is available in Southwark, Croydon and Bromley.
