For some people, being referred to CAMHS might seem like a scary experience, but we want to help you feel comfortable and safe while you are with us.
There are different ways that you can get help:
- Face to face appointments
- Group therapy – this will be with other young people dealing with similar issues
- Family therapy
- Guided self-help
- Telephone
- Video chat
Your privacy, and keeping your safe
The things you tell us will remain private, and in most cases, we will only discuss your details with other members of the team to figure out how to help you.
Our priority is to ensure that you are safe, so if there are any immediate risks to you, we may have to talk about your safety and welfare with other agencies. This might be your school, GP, or other specialists. We will always try to make sure that we tell you first if this needs to happen.
