Biography

Dr Aysha Baloch is a Specialist Clinical Psychologist who joined the Trauma, Anxiety and Depression Clinic (TAD) in 2021. Aysha’s prior experience includes working with looked after and adopted children and young people who experienced early childhood traumas at a specialist CAMHS service. She has a particular interest in race, culture, and trauma and working with young people and families who have experienced single incident, multiple and cultural traumas.

After completing her first two degrees, Aysha worked as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner providing assessments and low-intensity CBT interventions to individuals experiencing anxiety and depression, before completing her MSc in Psychiatric Research. During this time, Aysha completed research with the National and Specialist OCD and BDD service. Aysha completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Canterbury Christ Church University. Her doctoral thesis was titled “Functional Neurological Disorder: A Faith and Cultural Perspective”. During her training, Aysha attended formal trainings in trauma interventions, including trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy, narrative exposure therapy and compassion focused therapy.

Whilst working within the team, Aysha has provided teaching at Kings College London for CYP-IAPT (Children and Young People’s Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies) course and CAMHS services.
