Our experts

Dr Rumina Taylor is a Principal Clinical Psychologist with the Psychological Interventions Clinic for Outpatients with Psychosis (PICuP) where she sees clients for psychological therapy and provides clinical supervision to psychological therapists in training. Rumina is also the training and service promotion lead at PICuP. Her expertise lies within the theoretical underpinnings and application of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for psychosis and a variety of other difficulties in addition to approaches that have derived from this model (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness). She has particular interest and expertise in Cognitive Remediation Therapy and Family Interventions and has received national awards for her work developing a family work service within acute inpatient settings. She previously co-chaired the Acute and Crisis Network of the Psychosis and Complex Mental Health Faculty which is part of the British Psychological Society and provides teaching, training and supervision on Diploma level, Masters and Doctoral programmes within and outside of the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London.

Dr Taylor received a First Class BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Aberdeen. She completed the Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London, and has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural for Psychosis at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London.

Research

Dr Taylor’s research interests lie predominately within psychosis and in psychological therapy approaches such as Cognitive Remediation, Social Cognition, Acceptances and Commitment Therapy and Family Interventions. She has presented her work at national and international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals.
