About

Background 

Dr Amy Hardy is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Trauma-informed Care Lead at the PICuP Clinic and a Lecturer at the Department of Psychology, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King's College London. She specialises in trauma therapies and digital therapeutics for people affected by psychosis, and is an accredited EMDR practitioner.  Dr Hardy received a First Class BSc (Hons) in Psychology from University College London, and completed her PhD on trauma-related hallucinations at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London. She was awarded a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) from University College London, where she specialised in psychological approaches to psychosis.  She has worked with people across the spectrum of psychosis, in community, inpatient and residential services. 
 

Research 

Dr Hardy delivers lectures and workshops nationally and internationally, for undergraduates, post-graduates and post-doctorate clinicians. She also provides individual and group supervision. Dr Hardy’s research investigates the role of psychological processes in post-traumatic stress in psychosis and she is involved in projects examining the development, testing and implementation of trauma therapies for psychosis.  She also collaborates with designers and technologists on digital projects to enhance the usability and outcomes of psychological ways of managing distress and improving quality of life. She led a multidisciplinary team to develop SlowMo therapy, which is the first blended digital therapy for people who fear harm from others.
