Background

Dr Muj Husain is a Consultant Psychiatrist with the Persistent Physical Symptoms Service. He is also a Consultant in Liaison Psychiatry at King’s College Hospital where his work includes supporting medical teams on the wards and helping people in crisis in the emergency department.

Dr Muj Husain studied medicine at the University of Cambridge and trained in psychiatry on the Maudsley Training Programme in South London. He is a graduate of the NHS Medical Director’s Clinical Fellow Scheme where he spent a year working with the General Medical Council. He is a past Chair of the Trainee Doctors’ Group at the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and the Psychiatric Trainees’ Committee at the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

  • Clinical Director for Mental Health at the Health Innovation Network, the Academic Health Science Network for South London
  • Associate Medical Director for Specialist Services, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. This is a management position which includes working with services in neuropsychiatry, eating disorders, perinatal psychiatry, affective disorders and anxiety, trauma and dissociation
