Background

Dr Harriet Ferner is a Clinical Psychologist with the Psychological Interventions Clinic for Outpatients with Psychosis (PICuP) where she sees clients for psychological therapy, and supervises other professionals working with people with psychosis. Clinically, Dr Ferner has always had an interest in working with people with psychosis, their families, and carers. She has worked in various settings prior to joining PICuP, including; with young people at high risk of developing psychosis, early intervention services, and adult community mental health teams for people with psychosis. She is particularly interested in post-traumatic stress and family work within psychosis

Education and Training

Dr Ferner qualified with a BA in psychology from the University of Edinburgh in 2004. After working as a research assistant on a clinical trial exploring the ‘cognitive mechanisms of change in delusions’, she subsequently completed the Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy; 2013) at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IOPPN), King’s College London. She also has a Post-graduate diploma in CBT for psychosis (PGDiP; IOPPN; 2018).
