Celebrating Excellence at the London Division RCPsych Awards

all

A huge congratulations to those nominated, short-listed, and our winners at the London Division Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych) Awards, celebrating outstanding achievements and work across the field of psychiatry.

all

The ceremony was opened by SLAM Director of Postgraduate Medical Education Dr Ruth Cairns, the winner of last year’s Psychiatrist of the Year award. She gave a thoughtful and often amusing account of the history of award ceremonies, and reminded us of why it is great to celebrate those who have gone above and beyond.

Professor Derek Tracy, Chief Medical Officer at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, said: “These awards celebrate the dedication, compassion and excellence that define modern psychiatry and our role in supporting our patients. Each nominee and winner reflects the very best of our profession, and their contributions continue to strengthen patient care and inspire colleagues across London and beyond.

It’s particularly wonderful to see how many winners and shortlisted colleagues are part of the growing collaboration between our Trust, King’s College London and GKT Medical School, and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience. When we work together, we make great things happen and deliver genuine change and innovation.”

Congratulations to all those nominated and shortlisted. The winners and those shortlisted at this year’s awards from South London and Maudsley are:

  • Medical Student of the Year
