Congratulations to our colleagues shortlisted for this year’s RCPsych National Awards
A huge congratulations to the seven colleagues and teams from South London and Maudsley shortlisted for this year’s Royal College of Psychiatry awards, highlighting national excellence across the field of psychology.
The awards are celebrated annually and recognise the incredible work of staff members and alumni noting their dedication, innovation and impact across many areas.
Derek Tracy, Chief Medical Officer said: “A massive congratulations to all our staff and services who have been shortlisted for this year’s awards, including in the categories of patient and carer contributions to mental health. This is undoubtedly a testament to the fantastic work you do every day to keep our patient safe, enhance our practice and change the field of psychiatry for the better. Each year, I’m incredibly proud to see so many SLAM names on this shortlist, it’s a reminder of the huge impact of our teams and individuals.”
This year’s shortlisted individuals and teams are:
- Patient Contributor of the Year: Sarah Davenport
- Carer Contributor of the Year: End of Life Care Work at South London and Maudsley
- Higher Resident of the Year: Dr Bhavika Vajawat
- Early Career Academic of the Year: Dr Katie Beck
- Psychiatrist of the Year: Dr Bruce Clark
- Research Team of the Year: PiCUP
- Sustainability Care of the Year: The Grounding Project at roots and shoots
In 2025, our individuals and teams - along with colleagues from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience - won many of the awards highlighting our joint expertise within the field.
On last year’s wins, Derek Tracy said: “Many of our colleagues move fluidly between the two to bring depth, agility, innovation and a shared vision to transform care for those affected by mental health and neurological conditions.”
The award ceremony will be held of Thursday 5th November. We wish everyone shortlisted the best of luck, a huge congratulations and a heartfelt thank you for all the work you do in bettering the lives of those affected by mental ill health.
