Developing the next group of diverse leaders at the Trust

Diverse leaders

We are celebrating the completion of our first ‘Black and Culturally and Ethnically Diverse Staff Career Development Programme’ group, helping to create a strong pipeline of diverse leaders across the Trust.

Developed by the Workforce Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Team, the programme aims to support career progression and build confidence through workshops, networking opportunities and reflective learning sessions. Participants learn more about leadership, personal development, and the practical skills needed to progress in their careers.

Feedback from participants highlighted the positive impact the programme has had on their confidence, aspirations and professional development. One participant said: "The greatest transformation wasn't what I learned. It was changing how I see myself and believing in what I'm capable of achieving."

Another shared: "It has enhanced my professional skills, improved my self-confidence, and given me greater clarity about my career pathway."

Many noted feeling better equipped to pursue new opportunities, challenge self-doubt and take the next steps in their careers. The programme reflects our commitment to creating an inclusive workplace where all colleagues are supported to reach their full potential.

By investing in the development of black and culturally and ethnically diverse staff, the Trust is helping to create a workforce that better reflects the communities it serves and strengthening the future of leadership across the organisation.
