Florence and Nelson wards have moved into their new home
Welcome to New Douglas Bennett House (NDBH) Florence and Nelson wards.
These two wards have paved the way from Lambeth Hospital to NDBH where service users and staff are now settling into their new spaces on the third floor. It has been an exciting and busy moving week, and we are pleased that the process went quickly and smoothly for both wards.

A huge thank you to everyone who has been involved in shaping and delivering these moves – this is an important milestone for the Trust’s £186 million Modernisation Programme. New Douglas Bennett House is a purpose-built facility that will transform our services, supporting high-quality clinical care, recovery, and a positive working environment.

Staff and service users are all enjoying this new space, with staff feeling happy and enjoying the bright and airy atmosphere and modern environment on the new wards. We have received positive feedback from service users who have moved in this week, with patients reporting that are excited and enjoying the new and spacious feel of the ward.

The coming days and weeks will be a chance for staff and service users on both wards to get properly acquainted with this new environment. As they settle in, work continues on the wider programme of scheduled moves from Lambeth to NDBH and Bethlem Royal Hospital, which remains on track for late August and September.
