Hub of Hope recognised as the official national signposting platform

For World Mental Health Day, the Hub of Hope was recognised by The Royal Foundations of The Prince and Princess of Wales’ National Suicide Prevention Network as the official national signposting platform. At SLaM, we’re proud to support the UK’s largest mental health support directory, and congratulate this critical partner on this amazing recognition.
The new network has been created to unite leading organisations across the country to strengthen and co-ordinate their life changing work on suicide prevention - with Hub of Hope acting as the official signposting platform.
Sadie Thomson-Ashworth, Clinical Team Leader, SLaM Mental Health Liaison Team based at St Thomas’ Emergency Department said: “It’s incredible to see this body of work recognised on a national scale by the new National Suicide Prevention Network. We know that people in crisis have reduced capacity to sift through resources to get the support they need. The Hub of Hope offers a system that is easy to navigate and tailored to each person’s specific needs and preferences. There is so much support available to those struggling with their mental health and wellbeing, we need to ensure they know what is available. Solutions like this help to get us closer to a place where those in need are getting the support they need quicker.”
Hub of Hope will now sit at the heart of UK-wide efforts to prevent suicide by connecting people in need to over 14,000 local, national, NHS and voluntary services, ensuring everyone can access timely and appropriate support for their mental health and wellbeing.
This recognition is a huge honour and highlights the incredible work of the team behind the Hub of Hope, demonstrating how their achievement in bringing together technology, lived experience and partnerships to help save people’s lives.
Speaking on the news, His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales said: “The incredible partners who form this network reach those at risk of, or affected by, suicide with their inspirational work. I have had the privilege of meeting all of the founding partners to see first hand their powerful community-based efforts to offer hope and support to those who need it most. Their efforts reaffirm the urgent mission of the National Suicide Prevention Network: to build a bold, unified national response to the heart breaking—and preventable—tragedy of suicide.”
