Moving care into the community: Kevin Vento on Croydon Health and Wellbeing Space

Earlier this year, we shared a video about the Croydon Health and Wellbeing Space and the support it provides for physical and mental health concerns for the Croydon Community.

Located in the Whitgift Centre, this space acts as a “one stop shop” for everything related to wellbeing, offering support with housing, finances, domestic abuse, form filling, mental health and more.

We spoke to Kevin Vento, Consultant Clinical Psychologist who shared why he believes spaces like this are the future of mental health care.

Kevin said: “I think this is the model that all mental health services should be following. My hope is that in five years’ time, our mental health services look more like this. If they’re located in shops, if we can meet people where they’re at – in churches, in mosques, in local areas – then I think that’s the way forward.”
