Ethnic clothing is a big part of Indian culture and offers a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of art and design that has been passed on for generations. Women have worn ethnic clothing with great pride and charisma for centuries. Indian ethic wear is very diverse and can vary according to the regional needs, locally available raw material, art forms, and traditions.

South Asian Heritage Month runs from 18 July to 17 August, and we are celebrating the stories that make up our diverse organisation and vibrant local communities. 

Maxine Gayle, Community Matron at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, attended the NHS Big Tea alongside the Prince and Princess of Wales and NHS Chief Executive Amanda Pritchard to celebrate NHS 75. 

To mark Windrush 75 today, Roslyn Walcott-Cumberbatch, General Manager at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, kindly shares her family story which spans three generations of women who have worked for the NHS.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the start of June for the latest in our series of public strategy update events. We were joined by over 180 people at St. George’s Cathedral in Southwark and online for the opportunity to celebrate successes and hold ourselves to account.
