As a Trust, we are supported by around 400 volunteers each year who bring their own individual skills, experience and passion to the Trust.

Dr Marta Dell’Aringa, Consultant Psychiatrist at the South London and Maudsley, was recently awarded Best Clinical Supervisor of the Year 2025 in the SLaM Training Programme Awards.

Building works are on track and progressing well at Heather Close — the future home of Lewisham’s new 24/7 C ommunity M ental H ealth C entre , and programme leaders were pleased to be able to showcas e the site recently to Jennifer Daothong , Chief Executive of Lewisham Council .  

In last week’s Board Development Meeting we reflected carefully on the findings of last month’s CQC reports. While it was positive to read about areas of progress, some of the feedback was challenging and shone a light on where we must do better for our patients, carers, the communities we serve and for our staff. We take the CQC’s findings extremely seriously and believe it gives us a real opportunity to reflect, learn and strengthen how we lead the organisation.

On Wednesday 25 February, Professor Carmine Pariante launched Maudsley Talks, a new lecture series designed to showcase world-leading insight, research, and clinical practice.
