Welcoming our new Chief Executive Officer
Jane Bailey, Chair, welcomes our new Chief Executive Officer Paul Calaminus.
It gives me great pleasure to welcome Paul Calaminus as our new Chief Executive Officer today.
Paul joins us with a wealth of experience leading some of the country's most respected mental health Trusts and most recently, he served as Chief Executive of North East London NHS Foundation Trust. He is widely recognised as a compassionate, values-led leader with a strong track record of improving services, supporting staff and delivering better outcomes for patients and communities.
For Paul, this is something of a homecoming. Between 2000 and 2013, he held a number of leadership roles at SLaM, giving him an in-depth understanding of our services, our communities and what makes this organisation so special.
Throughout the highly competitive recruitment process we conducted for the CEO role, he impressed us with his commitment to quality, his focus on partnership working and his belief that the best outcomes are achieved when staff, service users, carers, partners and communities work together. Those values align strongly with our own ambitions as a Trust, which we know will be reflected in our upcoming Strategy Refresh.
I know Paul is looking forward to spending time in services, connecting with our partners, listening to colleagues, meeting with service users and carers, and understanding the opportunities and challenges facing us all.
On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Interim Chief Executive Ade Odunlade for his outstanding contribution during his time in this critical role for our Trust. Ade has led the Trust with energy, integrity and a clear focus on improving care for our patients and creating the conditions for our staff to succeed. I am delighted that Ade will continue to play a critical role in the Trust in his substantive role as Chief Operating Officer.
