Your voice is vital in the refresh of our Trust strategy

People at strategy consultation

In our work providing NHS mental health care , striving to deliver the best possible care for the people we support, we face challenges every day. It’s so important that our strategic approach as a Trust recognises this and supports us. I got involved in the Strategy Refresh to make sure our perspectives are reflected, and we need your voice too.

Our current strategy, Aiming High; Changing Lives, is due to come to an end later this year and so over the last few months, lots of work has been done to start to develop our next strategy

We are just at the halfway point of the engagement period – the part of the process where we share our ideas so far and find out what you think. If you haven’t had the chance to share what’s most important to you yet, there is still time.

As a staff representative on the Strategy Refresh Working Group – a group of service users, carers, staff, governors and partners who bring the perspectives of their different roles – I've been able to get stuck in to the process, from the design, to the planning and delivery of the refresh. We’ve really benefited from hearing from a wide range of voices as we supported and scrutinised the development of the se initial ideas.

Our strategy will shape our direction and guide our work for the next five years. By bringing your perspective and sharing your views on what the Trust should focus on, you will help drive change in the way we deliver mental health care.

We simply can’t make this strategy the best it can be, for our service users and their loved ones, for our colleagues, and for our communities, without your voice in the mix.

I am looking forward to working with my colleagues all across the Trust, our partners, governors and service users and carers putting our refreshed strategy into action later this year. Before then, have your say by 31 March 2026.
