Professor Derek Tracy reappointed to the ACMD
The Trust’s Chief Medical Officer, Professor Derek Tracy, has been reappointed to the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD) for a third term. alongside 10 other reappointed professionals and 10 new members, whose expertise spans areas including public health, law enforcement and scientific research.
The ACMD assess substances that are being misused or could potentially cause significant health and social harms, as well as conducting in-depth inquiries into aspects of drug use that are causing particular concern in the UK.
Speaking on his reappointment, Professor Tracy said:
I'm delighted to be appointed for a third term with the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs. Providing evidence-based advice and counsel to Government is essential if we are to provide appropriate care and support needed by our patients and local residents.
