South Londoners invited to join World Suicide Prevention Day Conference and Service of Remembrance next week

4 September, 2025, London: South East London Suicide Bereavement Service partners - South East London Mind, Mind in Bexley and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust - are hosting the 7th annual World Suicide Prevention Day Conference and Service of Remembrance to raise awareness, reduce stigma and prevent further deaths by suicide. This online event is open to everyone.
The online event will include speakers from across mental health care including Thrive LDN, the Metropolitan Police and Project Soul Stride.
Amy Kirk-Smith, Suicide Bereavement Service Manager said: “We look forward to welcoming attendees to learn and remember with us on World Suicide Prevention Day. This will be our 7th annual conference and service of remembrance. It is always a poignant event. Our diverse range of speakers will share the vital work they are doing to help prevent suicide. We will hear from people who have been affected by suicide themselves, remember those who are no longer with us, and hold in our thoughts those who are currently struggling with suicidality. We want to use this day to send a message to people that there is help available and they do not need to suffer alone."
The final speaker will share their personal experience of losing a loved one to suicide followed by a service of remembrance led by the South London and Maudsley (SLaM) NHS Trust chaplains.
