CLARITY Study
Overview
We are looking for volunteers who experience auditory hallucinations to take part in a brain scan research study.
This study aims to find out what goes on in the brain that leads to auditory hallucinations- this is when people hear voices or other sounds when there is no external cause. We will do this by using brain scans.
What will it involve?
You would initially be invited to a screening interview where we will explain the study and ask you some questions.
If you are eligible, we will invite you to come for some brain scans, questionnaires and cognitive tasks.
We will perform 1 MRI scan and 1 EEG scan.
We may ask you to come back for a follow up after around 6 months.
Who are we looking to recruit?
We are looking for male and female volunteers between the ages of 16 to 65 who experience auditory hallucinations.
Rewards and expenses
You will be compensated up to £80 for your time spent in the study. This will be via bank transfer or shopping vouchers, depending on your preference. We will also arrange for travel and cover other expenses.
