Lewisham CAMHS Child Wellbeing Practitioner Team

How our service can help you

The Lewisham CAMHS Child Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) Team is part of Lewisham Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). We provide a low-intensity mental health service to young people who may not meet the threshold for mainstream CAMHS teams.

We provides short-term, low intensity, evidence-based, guided self-help interventions for children, young people and their parents. We offer treatment for mild to moderate anxiety, low mood, or mild behavioural difficulties.

Children, young people and their parents or carers will be offered up to eight sessions of guided self-help which will involve of a mixture of face to face and phone, or online video appointments. Sometimes we may ask parents or carers to attend on their own depending on the age of the young person.

Our team also run workshops to promote the emotional wellbeing of children and young people, for example, ÔExam Stress' or ÔSleep'.

Our team members
Our service is staffed by a mixture of fully trained, and trainee child wellbeing practitioners, who are supervised by a senior CAMHS clinician
