About SHARP Gallery
SHARP gallery was founded in a social inclusion project within South London and Maudsley NHS Trust in 2011, converting a bland conference room into a gallery space.  It has exhibited the work of hundreds of artists, many of whom use mental health services.  The gallery has transformed the physical environment and the experiences for staff and service users, as well as giving a platform for emerging artists to exhibit.  The gallery is based in Blue Star House on Stockwell Road.
The ethos of the gallery was devised by a steering group and includes the gallery being the following:
- a safe space
 - art focused
 - breaking the mould
 - being brave
 - connecting and bringing people together
 - enabling

The gallery is open to anyone who feels art will help with their mental health.

Art For Change- A solo show By Halimah Sadia Zakiuddin

10th October- 27th November
Art for Change is a powerful invitation for the audience to explore transformation in society, in spirit and in self.   The exhibition consists of works, through inspiration from different art movements- confronts timely but also timeless topics, compelling the audience to feel, reflect and act. A Dadaist meditation on genocide, a surrealist vision of homelessness, and a Cubist reflection on climate change sit alongside raw, expressionist works that delve into mental health. The pieces include landscapes and charcoal drawings depicting nature’s light, movement and stillness.  Halimah asks us to hope, reminding us of what still needs protecting-and what is still possible.  The visual journey is one acting as the artist’s manifesto for emotional and social awakening.
