Wellbeing Matters Project shortlisted for National HSJ Awards 2025

We are pleased to announce that the Wellbeing Matters Project, lead by the Staff Support Team, has been shortlisted for the Staff Wellbeing Award at the National HSJ Awards 2025.
This national recognition celebrates the project’s innovative and impactful approach to supporting staff wellbeing across our Trust. Now nearly 18 months into its two-year journey, the Wellbeing Matters Project has grown into a cornerstone of the Trust’s commitment to workforce wellbeing.
Since its launch, the project has:
- Delivered over 100 wellbeing events, reaching more than 3,000 staff across the Trust.
- Inspired over 100 staff members to express interest in becoming Staff Wellbeing Advocates.
- Created safe and restorative spaces through Pop-Up Rest & Recharge Hubs, with more planned in the final phase of the project.
A key milestone is approaching on Wednesday 20 August, when the second cohort of Wellbeing Advocates will begin their training. These advocates play a vital role in embedding wellbeing into everyday workplace culture.
One of the trained Wellbeing Advocates, said: “Being a wellbeing advocate has had a huge positive impact on my role. The Staff Support Team have provided all colleagues across the Trust with an array of toolkits, resources, and ideas to prioritise wellbeing in the workplace, as well as spaces in their rest and recharge hubs across the Trust. They have made a big difference to staff wellbeing, ensuring people feel supported, and enabling a positive cultural shift.”
This nomination is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the Staff Support Team, Staff Networks, and Wellbeing Advocates. Their dedication has helped foster a culture where wellbeing is not just encouraged but actively supported.
Annabel Fellows, Higher Assistant Psychologist and Project Lead for Wellbeing Matters, said: “We are delighted that the Wellbeing Matters Project has been shortlisted for another award! It's great to receive national recognition for this project to highlight its unique approach to workforce wellbeing and the significant positive impact it has had on staff across the Trust."
This project couldn’t have happened without collaboration with the entire Staff Support Team, Staff Networks, and Wellbeing Advocates. Thank you to everyone who has made this happen!”
Joining the Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework Team at the awards ceremony in November, the Trust extends its congratulations to both teams and wishes the Staff Support Team the very best of luck.
