Information for employers

Approximately one in four people experience a mental health problem every year in England. It’s more important than ever that employers can face up to the challenges this can cause in the workplace.

In addition to providing one-to-one career coaching for South London and Maudsley patients, our Individual Placement and Support (IPS) teams also support local employers to help you create more equitable workplaces for people with mental health conditions.

Our Employ Well service is completely free, and helps employers by:

  • Providing free information, advice, resources, training and workshops to improve staff wellbeing, mental health awareness, and, to help create fairer and more inclusive workplaces
  • Supporting you with recruitment needs by matching your vacancies with our skilled, talented and motivated clients

How does it work?

Our support for employers is wide ranging and tailored to your needs. Best of all, it’s free!

It could include:

  • Helping you to fill your vacancies with well suited matches
  • Guidance on introducing reasonable adjustments and other changes that could be made to make your workplace more accessible for people with mental health conditions
  • Delivering workshops for your staff on topics such as workplace mental health and wellbeing
  • Providing information, resources and advice on a range of mental health topics and signposting to other organisations that can help
  • Working together to raise awareness and break the stigma around mental health in your local community

What employers are you looking for?

Our employment coaches support clients who live within the London boroughs of Croydon, Lewisham, and Southwark. Therefore, we are looking for employers easily commutable from South London.

We are experienced in working with a range of employers from all industries and sectors, big and small.

The most important thing is that you are passionate about breaking the stigma around mental health and want to give back to your local community.

Why do you work with employers?

Building relationships with local employers is an important part of the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model that our teams follow. It is an evidence-based form of employment support that is proven to get the best results for people living with mental health conditions.

Working with employers not only helps us to unlock new career opportunities for our clients, but it also enables us to give back to the local community by supporting local employers to champion inclusivity and wellbeing.

We believe work and wellbeing go hand in hand. We are passionate about helping to create a South London free from mental health stigma, where employers have the knowledge, skills and resources to provide inclusive workplaces for all.
