Firstly, VerseOne would like to thank you for viewing the new South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust website design proposals. A few things worth noting; the realisation of these designs into the VerseOne CMS will allow for flexible re-positioning and re-ordering of the page elements. VerseOne work with re-usable components to allow their customers to create varied and engaging page layouts and content. The designs presented use a mixture of re-purposed images, placeholder text and wording yet to be fully approved. The focus therefore is on how the Trust is conveyed, and the page look and feel.
Broadly speaking, the deeper you go in the site structure the more word-heavy the pages become. Higher level pages should be more graphical and signpost the user to the information. To reflect this, the top hero section gets reduced, and when we reach the lowest level page, we add a side navigation to help the user navigate through the wealth of internal pages and get a sense of context from the other page names. The page you are on will be highlighted, and any sub pages to the one you are on are also shown.
We balance the text infomration with more playful 'checkerboard' elements at the bottom of the page, adding more photographic imagery to encourage a more friendly feeling.
