Letter of Hope shared to raise awareness for suicide prevention

letter of hope design

To raise awareness for suicide prevention, South London and Maudsley staff have worked together with service users and members of the Lived Experience Network to write a ‘Letter of hope’.

The Letter of Hope is to remind anyone who may be feeling suicidal that they are not alone. Things will change and there are people who will listen and help you through this time.

Simon Sherring, Deputy Chief Nurse said “I am grateful to the service users and staff with lived experience who helped write this letter.  I am also grateful to Devon Partnership Trust and the Devon Letter of Hope Group for the help they gave us in writing this letter.”

Richie Morton, Service User and Carer Lead said “'I hope you never need to know the pain of this type of loss, the pain of feeling this way, but if you have or you do then this letter is to you.”
