About
Gus is a chartered accountant with over 20 years’ experience across both the private and public sectors. He has been the Director of Finance and Corporate Governance at the South London and Maudsley since 1999, a role which he has developed over the years to go far beyond that of a traditional finance role.
Gus provides financial and governance advice to the Board, professional leadership for the finance and corporate governance and IT teams, ensuring high standards of integrated planning and probity and managing the development and implementation of the Trust's governance framework. He is also a champion for nursing quality and takes an active role in ensuring Care Quality Commission (CQC) compliance. He was instrumental in driving the Trust’s foundation trust (FT) application and securing FT status in 2006.
As part of Gus’ wider role in the NHS across London, he sits on the Commercial Board and is a member of the London Procurement Programme Steering Group.
