Industrial action in September and October- What you need to know

The BMA has announced that Junior Doctors and Consultants will be taking industrial action in September and October.
Consultants will strike on Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 September.
Junior doctors will strike on Wednesday 20, Thursday 21 and Friday 22 September.
In October, both consultants and junior doctors will strike on Monday 2, Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 October.
We are working hard to make sure we can continue the safe delivery of our clinical services on the strike days.
Our teams will contact you directly if we need to re-schedule your appointment and will do this as quickly as possible. If you have an appointment and have not been contacted, please assume this is going ahead and attend your appointment.
If we have not contacted you, please attend your appointment as planned. The NHS will contact you if your appointment needs to be rescheduled due to strike action.
Regardless of any strike action taking place, it is really important that patients who need urgent mental health care continue to come forward as normal. If you need urgent help for your mental health, but it's not an emergency:
- Call 0800 731 2864 and choose option 1 to speak to our local mental health crisis line. We can connect you to local mental health services, including our crisis support teams and peer support services.
- Call 111 or get help from NHS 111 online
Help is available if you, or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis. You can find more information on support available here .
Thank you for your support and co-operation.
Please continue to check back for further updates on how the strikes will affect our services.
