Strategy in Action Event
Earlier in May, we hosted our fifth bi-annual Strategy in Action event, where we welcomed staff, service users, and community members. The event showcased how we are delivering the next generation of care through research innovation. Over 200 attendees learned about our collaboration with partners to improve patient care. Mental Health Awareness Week: Movement Matters
This year’s theme was “Movement: Moving More for Our Mental Health”. We caught up with service user Natasha, who has embraced weekly non-contact boxing as a vital tool in her therapeutic recovery. Speaking Truth to Power
As part of our commitment to becoming an anti-racism organisation by 2026, our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion team organised the Speaking Truth to Power conference. Guest speakers and audience members shared powerful stories and reflections. Learn more about the event.
What’s On at the Bethlem Gallery and Museum
Bethlem Live Lounge: Bring your picnic blankets on Saturday, 8th June, from 12 to 4 pm for an afternoon of music in the beautiful grounds of Bethlem Royal Hospital. Enjoy food trucks and performances from across the Bethlem community and beyond! Learn more about the festival.
A World Apart Exhibition: While at the festival, explore the work of Charles Lutyens at the Bethlem Museum. Lutyens, an artist and art therapist in the 1970s and 1980s, challenged stigmas around mental ill health. His work is both moving and thought-provoking. Learn more about the artist.
New Appointee as King’s Health Partners Turns 15
Professor Graham Lord, MA MB BChir PhD FRCP FRSB FMedSci, NIHR Senior Investigator Emeritus, has been appointed Senior Vice President & Executive Director of King’s Health Partners. He will also serve as the Chief Academic Officer, a Non-Executive Director role on the Board of Directors at both Guy’s and St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts.
This appointment comes as King’s Health Partners celebrates 15 years of improving patient care through research and innovation in southeast London and beyond.

What Our Partners Are Up To
Brain Health Launch Event
In partnership with KCL, NIHR, and University of Exeter, we are launching the NIHR Health Research Centre into Brain Health on 11 June from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering, 100 Lambeth Palace Road, SE1 7EH. This new Research Centre will tap into the best available technology.

New Digital Health Hub
We are part of a digital health hub, developed by the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering, set up to help innovators deploy digital health solutions to real-life health and care challenges.
Using expertise from patients, trusts, the public, and industry, the hub provides a resource enabling training, co-creation, and the development of technologies.
