Spring Ward celebrates Black History Month
Colleagues across the Trust have been celebrating Black History Month this October. Patients and staff on Spring Ward enjoyed a feast of African and Caribbean food and culture at their Black History Month celebration.
Healthcare Assistant Rachel Oyewole-Eletu and a patient on the ward prepared jollof rice, jerk chicken and rice and peas. There was dancing, poetry and singing. Staff organised a quiz, a talk about the significance of Black History Month and a display with pictures of famous black people.
Ward Manager Joseph Quansah said:
Patients and staff found it a wonderful experience to bring the diverse team and patients together to enjoy African and Caribbean food and culture on the ward.
