Research
We are committed to ensuring that Ethnically and Culturally Diverse communities, particularly Black individuals, have access to and are well-represented in mental health research. By addressing the barriers to participation, we aim to produce research that reflects the needs and experiences of these communities.
Outcomes
- Increased participation of Black communities in mental health research.
- Research outcomes that are more relevant to the needs of Black service users.
- A stronger evidence base for addressing health inequalities in Black communities.
Key Actions
Improving Access to Research: We will address the barriers preventing Black and ECD communities from engaging with research, such as language and cultural differences, to increase participation.
Inclusive Research Design: We will ensure that mental health research is designed with the needs of Black communities in mind, and that these communities are adequately represented in research studies.
Collaborating with Community Leaders: We will work closely with leaders from Black and ECD communities to ensure that research priorities align with the issues that matter most to them.
Addressing Health Inequalities: We will promote and support research that focuses on the mental health challenges faced by Black communities, with the goal of improving outcomes for these groups.
