To assist participants’ understanding of how menopause may affect women with a learning disability, and to develop confidence in recognising signs, communicating sensitively, and providing person-centred support.
Phyllis Maynard is a registered learning disability nurse and seasoned leader in adult social care, with over three decades of experience spanning frontline practice, strategic commissioning, and service transformation across the UK and the USA. Phyllis has held senior roles in local government, housing, and the voluntary sector, which include working as a Learning Disability & Autism Commissioning Manager and Project Manager for a Housing Association. Her return to practice in 2023 reaffirmed her belief in the vital role of LD nursing in shaping inclusive futures bringing both lived insight and strategic vision to the discussion.
