To enable managers to delegate with confidence - balancing clarity, trust, and support to unlock staff potential, build capability to deliver better outcomes for people who use services.
For senior support staff and team leaders, supervisors and managers who have responsibility for supervising and line managing others.
Identify what and when to delegate using the stages and levels of delegation.
Employ delegation tools to support the delegation process.
Apply the established stages and levels of delegation to determine the appropriate depth of task transfer.
Reflect on their own delegation style to plan improvements.
Principles of effective delegation
How to clarify expectations and provide “just enough” support
Matching tasks to staff skills, confidence and motivation
Delegation tools (micro-contracts, coaching questions and feedback)
Practice through vignettes and an extended case studies.
